2015 Lantern Award

Conferred upon Father Joseph Baggetta on the occasion of the Fifty-Ninth Annual Lantern Award Presentation at the One hundred fifteenth Annual Patriots Day Dinner on Monday April 20th at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel, 1657 Worcester Road, Framingham.

Priest of the Archdiocese of Boston, Former Navy Chaplain, Founder of “The Chapel of Hope” where Fr. Edward “Boys Town” Flanagan’s dictum that there are no bad boys, just bad examples and bad Fr. Joe Baggetta has served as chaplain of the Massachusetts Department of Youth Corrections, living out environments. Father Joe Baggetta, has been there for over 20 years and has done a wonderful job.  Father Baggetta dreamed for years of providing a sacred space away from the facility for the youth under his care, so he acquired a 12' by 60' trailer like those used on construction sites, and with the help of volunteers from the Knights of Columbus converted it into a chapel, "The Chapel of Hope.
